Logo

The logo is inspired by the distinctive architectural façade of the Esplanade, Singapore's iconic hub for performing arts and creative pursuits.

The triangles resemble a traditional sail symbolic of Singapore's origin as a trading port founded by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819. Since then, Singapore has advanced to become the world's busiest port and a vital hub to international trade - a key APEC objective.

The 21 linked triangles represent the harmonious interconnectivity of the 21 APEC economies and the spirit of inclusiveness among members. Individually, the triangle is the mathematical symbol for change, signifying the importance of remaining relevant in a world where change is a constant.

The predominant red colour reflects the vibrancy, boldness and strength of APEC as a global grouping.
